  • Citizen of Australia or eligible ASEAN country

  • Able to commit to 7-10 hours per week

The first step is to ensure you have all the relevant documents ready to send us, including your CV, a statement of purpose, and a personal photo. For ASEAN applicants, you may also like to attach a TOEFL or IELTS certificate if you have one.

Your CV

Your CV should include your:

  • contact details
  • date of birth (you must be aged 23-40)
  • details of community engagement
  • current employment

Please remember:

  • For work and community engagement, include relevant dates and a brief explanation of your role and responsibilities in each position
  • If you need to use abbreviations, please explain what they mean the first time you use them.
  • For educational qualifications, remember to include dates and your area of study
  • If you have relevant hyperlinks to your publications or the community organisations you work with, include them if you think they might be helpful

  2. What you can offer as a delegate during the program
  3. What you would like to convey about Islam in your home country, both in general terms and based on your personal experience

English Ability

As the program will take place entirely in English, applicants from ASEAN are requested to demonstrate their English competency.

Applicants may do this by submitting their application in English, or including evidence of studies completed in English in their CV. You may like to attach other evidence of your English ability such as a recent TOEFL or IELTS certificate.

If you are unsure about how best to demonstrate your English Ability, please contact us directly to discuss this further.

References

Please provide two or three references to boost your chances of being accepted to the program. All references should be from people who know you well and can vouch for your suitability as an AAMEP delegate.

References should be in the form of 2-3 written letters of reference from your chosen referees. If it isn’t possible to obtain written references before the application deadline, you can also provide an email address for your referee. If providing an email address, please make sure your referee knows that we will contact them for a written reference shortly after your application is received.

At least one reference should be from either:
A) A Muslim community organisation, or
B) An individual who can describe your activities supporting or working with Muslims in the community.

When all of your documents and reference letters are prepared, please click on the ‘Start Application’ button. Fill in all required details along with your documents.

Should your application be successful you will be invited to submit a short video introduction. We will send you further instructions about this process. At the same time, you will also be invited to take part in a Zoom interview with a selection panel. This will be the final stage of the application process.

Please prepare for the interview, attend the call promptly, be yourself, and enjoy the experience!

Applicants who successfully make it through the interview will be offered a place on the program beginning in late January 2022. This is your moment to celebrate! We will contact you to begin onboarding, and look forward to 8 weeks of learning, connection, collaboration, and transformational discussions.
